Furniture Seller's Remorse....3 hurdles to overcome.
You had to have it! A little pricey but You bought it anyway! It looks GREAT in the home, you LOVE it! 2 months later you have to relocate for job reasons. The new place won't accommodate it. What was I thinking?
Sellers remorse hits you like a ton of bricks. Should I have thought about it more? Should I have brought something cheaper or gently used instead of new? Now I have to decide whether to ship it and store it or try and sell it. Reality kicks in and you realize you will not get what you paid for should you sell it. Think Consignment!
Here are 3 ways to combat Sellers Remorse:
(1) Really think about your conundrum. Did you purchase a product or a vision? Paying for something that is so perfect or customized can lead to overspending. It happens, you get caught in the moment. Get over it and move on.
(2) Consider that even though you may be forced to part with the item far less than you paid for it, think how good someone else will feel to have and appreciate it. Think Consignment! The silver lining is how much you will save on shipping, storing it and possibly never using it again.
(3) Make up for it on the other end. There will ALWAYS be another great deal out there. Shop and spend time looking before you jump in too fast. Consider a top notch Furniture Consignment Store that sells high end, gently used furniture and feel GREAT about your purchase again!!
